Creating Fog Images
- Install Windows XP SP3
- Install all the drivers
- Install Microsoft Updates. Remember to do Custom Updates
- Find your school in the table below
- Install the FOG Service (Download)
- Enter the complete name of your FOG server according to the following list:
- chs-fog.district6.org
- pes-fog.district6.org
- sms-fog.district6.org
- hms-fog.district6.org
- sve-fog.district6.org
- cpe-fog.district6.org
- jes-fog.district6.org
- Download the HostNameChange.Zip file and extract its contents. (SVE Only: Use this file instead)
- Copy the file HostNameChange.dll into C:\Program Files\FOG. Click on “Yes” to replace.
- Install the correct version of Windows Support Tools: Windows XP, Windows 2000
- Install all the following software: Acrobat Reader, Shockwave Player, Flash Player, Java
- Join the computer to the domain for now, and contact me to move the computer to the correct location in Active Directory
- Install the educational software that you need. Verify that the data locations work correctly. Create shortcuts for all users. Test everything thoroughly!
- Call TSS that we can install Kaspersky Security on the computer
- Launch the Kaspersky Security, run the updates and a full computer scan. Reboot if it prompts you to.
- Defrag the hard drive
- Remove the computer from the domain
- Let me know when you’re done, and we’ll upload the image to the server.
