Scenic’s Winter Student Art Show

January29

This year’s Winter Student Art Show has come and gone. All three grade levels were asked to submit artwork, and a display was set up in the library. The show was up for two weeks and viewers were asked to vote for their favorite artist.
1st Place went to 8th grader Melora Williams for her manga drawings in ink. Her prize was a set of artist pens and a new sketch pad.
2nd Place was awarded to 8th grader Lance Garwood. His pencil drawings showed skill in shading. His prize was a drawing pencil set.
3rd Place was Marina Byrne with her manga portrait of a girl. She received a small drawing pad.
Thank you to all the students that submitted work. It takes courage to show your art to the masses, so I hope you’ll start working on something spectacular to submit for the Spring Art Show.

Rogue Valley Mall Student Art Show

January25

Starting February 1st through the 14th student artwork from around our district will be displayed on the first level of the Rogue Valley Mall, next to Kohl’s. A reception for all the artists will be on Feb. 6th from 4pm – 6pm. Please come show your support. First, Second, and Third place ribbons will be awarded for each grade level. This is a great opportunity to see what our young artists are capable of creating. I was amazed at the current display of Phoenix and Talent artists. Their work will be on display until the 31st.

Spring Art Show

May21

It’s time to show off what you’ve been working on this winter, so bring in work to submit for the Spring Art Show. Art comes in many styles, mediums, shapes, and sizes. I’ll take them all with three exceptions:
1. The work must be your own.
2. Subject matter should be school appropriate.
3. Please don’t enter work drawn on lined notebook paper.
Bring all entries to room E1 by May 21st.

Hand Transformation Drawings

May11

I hope you are all working on finishing up your hand transformations! You can give them to me as soon as you’ve finished. I am posting them in the Art classroom. If you missed the May 7th meeting, stop by and see me.
