Field Trips
by charles.hadley on Mar.30, 2009, under Room 10 News
Spring is a very busy time of year. The days are longer and the weather is nicer. We too are busy this spring in Room Ten. We have three field trips coming up over the next three weeks. Tuesday, March 31 we travel to Science Works hands on museum in Ashland. We will leave for Ashland at 8:45 in the morning and return around 1:45. Thursday, April 9th we are hiking the lower Table Rock. This is a BLM guided hike and promises to be a great time. The following Thursday, April 16th, we journey to Crater Lake for a snowshoe hike. We need 5-7 chaperones for both the Table Rock trip and the Crater Lake trip. Please let me know ASAP if you can join us for either of these activities.

Extra-Credit Opportunity!
by charles.hadley on Feb.01, 2009, under Room 10 News
If you enjoy learning about explorers and would like to earn extra credit, here is your chance. Choose an explorer from the list you recieved earlier. Research your explorer and write a short report on what he did. Be sure to include where the explorer is from, where they explored, when they did this, and whatever fun facts you find about this person. One to two pages is enough. Try to get your report to me by 2-13-09. Have fun!!
This Week’s Explorers

This week in Social Studies we will be learning about Prince Henry the Navigator and Christopher Columbus. Prince Henry, interestingly enough, is called the navigator though he never sailed on anyof the voyages he sponsored. Do you know why he is called the Navigator? Christopher Columbus is given credit for discovering America, but do you know who actually realized that what Columbus found was an unknown continent and not Asia?
